Your Guide to the AFHA Hockey Experience
Being part of the Abbotsford Female Hockey Association is about more than getting your player to the rink. It’s about being part of a community that supports girls as they learn, compete, build confidence and develop a lifelong love of hockey.
We know there is a lot to navigate throughout a hockey season — especially if you’re new to hockey or new to AFHA. From equipment and player development to safety, fees, team expectations, tournaments and sportsmanship, this page is your go-to resource for the information you need along the way.
Helping Your Player Thrive
Parents play an important role in creating a positive hockey environment. The best thing we can give our players is the opportunity to learn, make mistakes, build confidence and have fun — while knowing their families are cheering them on.
Remember, unless you actually are their Coach, your role isn't to be the coach. It's to be your player's biggest supporter!
That means encouraging effort over outcomes, celebrating progress, respecting coaches and officials, supporting teammates, and helping create a rink environment where every player feels welcome and valued.
