It was a great weekend for the Abbotsford Ice U15 C1 team after winning Sunday’s gold medal game at the Salmon Arm Tournament.

They went 5-0 in the tournament with wins over Penticton, Langley, Salmon Arm and Chilliwack. The Ice then played the Langley Lightning again in the Championship winning 6-1.

Coach Doug Crockett worked alongside Assistants Bryan Wilkinson and Grant Floris credits his team for playing hard and improving through the season.

“When we had some rough stretches during the season, they worked hard and did what we asked them to do,” said Coach Crockett. “We could see they were getting close to putting it all together by the end of the season, and it finally all clicked in the tournament.”

The U15 Ice play next this Thursday when they meet the North Shore Avalanche in the play-off championship game.
